How often do we share past lives with people we know now? If frequently, what is it that brings us together and what would keep us apart?

There is no set rule as to how many lifetimes we share with others. What determines it, is whether there was unfinished business or karmic lessons to complete. We all have a soul family that we tend to reincarnate with. The relationships change and sometimes one may become lost or displaced. The soul will put out a frequency, like a distress signal to find that member. The soul family is very much like your immediate family. It offers stability in the physical world and allows you to grow spiritually. Not everyone that we have relationships with are part of the soul family. Some cross our paths to give us a message, to teach us, or to help us to heal. There are numerous circumstances that would keep a soul apart. These are unpredicatable due to the choices the soul makes in the present lifetime.

Do we also share past lives with our pets or other animals that we currently know? Do our animals make a conscious decision to incarnate, because as I understand it, they don't incur karma as we would do.

Yes, we do share past lives with our animals. Many of them seek us out to repay us for helping them in a past life. They also have the choice whether they want to reincarnate or not. I have seen animals come back very quickly (within a year) and seek to find the same family they left. They don't come with karmic lessons rather they come to help us either physically or spiritually.

If our animals choose to join us here on earth, then what is the plan behind all those that go into cruel or suffering environments? Could this be an act of sacrifice on their part? Are these abusive situations lessons for us?

Animals that come into abusive situations many times do so as a self sacrifice in hopes to teach lessons of compassion and understanding. Sometimes an animal will be anxious to return to a lost partner whether human or animal and not be too selective as to how they get back. In these cases, the animal may come back into an abusive situation or end up getting lost and wander into those types of situations because they have lost hope. It can be complex depending on the life path of that animal.

I have a local animal communicator who I've retained a number of times, I've also read numerous books on animal communication. Although, I have found my local animal communicator to be "on the money" the overwhelming majority of the time, there seems to be two areas where she differs from the majority of what I've read. 1. She said that after an animal passes to the other side, there is a small time frame (a few months) before they can come back to visit us in spirit or before she can communicate with them. Again, most other animal communicators/authors have told stories of immediate communication with a pet that has crossed over. I have a cat that passed over about a month ago, who I had for almost 16 years. I had my local animal communicator come to my house 3 days later, I wanted to communicate with my cat particularly because I had her euthanized, but my animal communicator told me it was too soon. Needless to say, that was extremely disappointing to me. She said that my deceased cat was busy, and for me to try again in a few months. The only reason I received any information at all regarding her passing over was because my other cat who died a number of years ago was there when my recently passed cat crossed over and communicated some information to me. This kind of makes sense to me, however, various other animal communicators seem to communicate immediately with animals who have passed over to the other side. So, I'm confused. 2. The other topic was that my local animal communicator stated that an animal can reincarnate as a human in a future life, but a human cannot reincarnate to an animal in a future life. Since I don't believe that humans are any higher than animals, quite often, I find animals much wiser than humans, I had trouble with that one. Also, in the numerous books I've read by famous animal communicators, there have been stories of current pets who were once a husband or a son in a past life to a current person. Would love your take on those two topics.

Depending on the circumstances of when and how the animal crossed over there can be a time frame in which there is no communication allowed. I have seen this often if the animal was not properly prepared for the crossing. It can range in time from 3 days to 3 months. I have not seen it go much longer than 3 months. I have also had communications immediately from animals that have crossed over but those communications are often brief. During that time the animal needs to go through a debriefing period. This can last 3 days to 3 months. The debriefing is a transitional period to assist the soul in remembering their origin and reuniting with that source. This can be referred to as "school" . While in school they may or may not be allowed visitors, whether in spirit or human communications. This is to protect the soul especially if there was trauma associated with the crossing. It is possible to receive information about their well being immediately after their crossing through other animals that are connected to them or you or even through family members and spirit guides on the other side. Information that is recieved this way is just as valid as a direct communication. Think of it as a party line or conference call. There may be three people on the phone, one speaks at a time, but the other two hear the message. Many times the place the soul goes to during this transitional period is a place of isolation from distractions that keep them attached to the physical body. This is another reason for the inability to communicate with them. The isolation room is an eneretic area that is protected, like a secure zone. It is also important to understand that three days or three months for us is irrelevant on the energetic planes. As hard as it may be to lose loved ones, we must also be patient and allow them the time to do what they need do to make their transition a healthy one. On the topic of animals reincarnating as humans or vice versa; it is possible for an animal soul to come back as a human, normally to a family they are bonded with. I have also seen a human soul come into the life of a family as a dog or other type of animals. In many cases, the opportunity for the human soul to return to their family in another life may not manifest for them. Out of need, the soul will choose to come in as an animal in order to join the family. If the human soul reincarnates as an animal, it is only one aspect of the human soul, not the soul in it's entirety. What I mean by this is that the soul, like rays of light can shine on one object or all objects in it's path. In this case, the soul shines on the one object which is the animal and the other rays or aspects of the soul continue to shine in other dimensions. This is why animals at times can seem so enlightened. The animal soul may also receive information or be connected in a similar way as the human soul to the spirt world and that of higher wisdom while living in the body. Sometimes an animal or insect, (in particular butterflies and dragonflies) appear shortly after the crossing of a relative. The animal was sent by the loved one to say farewell or to let the family know they are okay. The human soul may do an exchange at certain times if needed with an animal that is in body in order to get a message through to a family member. The animal may appear for a brief time and then depart never to be seen again. The interesting thing is the animal will act as if they have been there before and know the layout of the home etc. This is usually proof that the animal was sent by a family member.

Interesting! I recently hired a different animal communicator (for a specific reason) and while I was on the clock, I asked her to see if she could communicate with my recently departed cat, and she WAS able to. Mind you, this was now a little over a month since my cat crossed over, not only three days later. I trust that this new animal communicator was in fact in tune with "my" cats, because most of what she picked up was identical to what my local animal communicator had previously picked up, and she was “right on” with my cats’ personalities.. As far as the reincarnation aspect of my question, I realize that everyone has their own philosophies, but the consensus based on the stories I’ve read, as well as your confirmation, a person CAN reincarnate to an animal. During my recent communication, one of my cats insisted that he was a human in a past life. He also communicated that he wasn’t sure if he wanted to come back in his next life as a human or a cat. He considered coming back as a human because he would have more control over his life. However, he conversed that he also enjoys relaxing, therefore, might prefer coming back as a cat again. Interesting stuff. ? Thank you.

Thanks for sharing that. It is always fascinating what comes out during a session. There is no set rule but an overall general consensus of how things happen to be. I'm happy to hear you were able to get in contact with your cat.
